Why invest in land?

There are various reasons why investing in land is a smart choice. Since there is fixed amount of land available and population continues to grow, the price of land continues to appreciate. Certain regions of the country, such as west coast and certain parts of east coast appreciate at much higher pace than the rest of the country.

These areas are ideal for either long- or short-term investment. Urban boundaries continue to expand, thus, buying properties outside of the city is a wise choice. According to "The State of the Nations Housing 2003" published by the prestigious Harvard University's Joint Center For Housing Studies, the housing industry is projected to experience another decade of strong growth. In fact, the same study points out that in "the past 15 years, 53 of the 100 largest metropolitan areas have not experienced a single year of declining nominal home prices." Due to the facts mentioned above, it's safe to conclude that the land prices are increasing as well.

The investment in real estate and land is a safe way to safeguard and appreciate your assets. The earlier you can start the higher the return will be. In general, properties acquired on the west coast and southeast (Atlantic) will yield higher returns on your investment.
